The Cast

John Duddy (Donal)
John retired from professional boxing at the outset of 2011 to pursue a career as an actor. He has already performed in the widely-acclaimed production of writer Chris Cassidy's Kid Shamrock, as the younger Kid Shamrock. He is currently studying acting at the prestigous T Schreiber Studio in Manhattan. Spudmunchers marks his debut in a leading theatrical role. He would like to give a special thanks to the woman who has supported him through all of it: Grainne.


Conor McManus (Leonard)
Conor McManus, has been involved in local theatre in the Bronx for the past twenty years. He worked with the Macalla Theatre Group in Woodlawn where he played a lead role in Don Creedon's The Lobby. He also had major roles in The Factory Girls and Rinty.  Most recently he has perfomed with The Poor Mouth Theatre in Riverdale in their highly successful seasonal productions. He is delighted to be a part of Colin Broderick's Spudmunchers. He would like to thank his wife Christina and their daughter Savannah for all their love and support on this journey.


Cooney Monroe (Maeve)
Originally from County Westmeath, Cooney is following her life-long dream of being on stage. She has performed with the Dean Crowe Theatre on numerous productions and has performed live on TV3's Ireland AM. She is delighted at this opportunity to have her New York acting debut in the premiere production of a new Irish play. "I feel completely exhilarated preforming. I've never been known to shy away from the spotlight, so bring it on!"  She would like to say a huge thank you to her parents, John and Anne, "who have supported me over the years all through acting school. Thank you."
